On October 17 and 18, 2020, our exclusive presentation of the world’s first true-to-original and fully
functional Unimog was held in the sacred halls of the Unimog Museum.
ScaleART UNIMOG Preview in Gaggenau
Shortly before the event, we were a bit nervous once again as to whether and how the preview would be able to
take place due to the tightening regulations in response to the ongoing pandemic. Luckily, everything worked
out in the end, and the event was able to go forward as we had hoped and planned with the help of over 20
volunteer members from the museum. We would like to take a moment to express our thanks to the Unimog Museum
and its entire team once again.
There it stood: the first fully functional Unimog, and it was finally allowed to prove itself. Strictly
speaking, the evening before because that was when the members’ meeting of the Unimog Club took place. At the
end of the meeting, the model was examined by many critical and expert eyes, including those of Unimog pioneer
Roland Feix. The verdict on all accounts: pure enthusiasm and respect.
Over 10 years in the making – over 500 sketches – 1000 design drawings – 250 tools
Chronologically arranged and full showcases led the museum visitor through the history of the development of
our Unimog. First sketches of the chassis system, hundreds of design drawings of the portal axles,
transmission, hydraulic pump, etc., up to the first prototype parts. Everything was on display.
The visit was rounded off by a specially created image and Unimog presentation video,
which was shown on a large screen and a subsequent guided tour through the exhibition led by our Managing
Director Bernd Brand or Chief Designer Martin Michalik.
During these two days, visitors were able to test, admire and of course pre-order the Unimog in all its
facets.
